Fashion
We hosted a fashion show in August 2014 in Uganda to raise awareness of mental ill health suffered by rescued child soldiers and victims of war. We successfully enlisted the support and donations of various ethical stores; please visit our Contributors page for further details.
Conscious crowd funding!
Through various individual and corporate donations, we managed to raise £1,050 GBP donated by 44 passionate supporters of our cause. You can see the video for this campaign here
We aim to raise additional funds through online crowd funding campaigns in the future.
Corporate Cake Bake-Offs!
We invited individuals from various businesses in and around London to take part in cake bake-offs in their offices with all monies raised going towards our charity.
Our preferred bakery is ‘The Exquisite Bakery’ which volunteered and will continue to volunteer its expertise and delicious recipes to individuals who wish to take part in our cake bake-offs but have limited baking experience. Please contact us directly if you wish to organize a cake bake-off in your work place on behalf of our charity.
Wedding dress challenge!
We worked with a renowned fashion designer to design a bespoke wedding gown, fully lined and laced, in just 12 hours! It was a great success and was featured in the Hackney Gazette here.
Yoga Flash Mob Events
We worked with a passionate yoga instructor, Sally Griffyn to host a Roof Top Sunset yoga session at the end of the summer. All yogis that attended received a complimentary back and neck message and thoroughly enjoyed this unique fundraising experience.
All proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to our charity to further our work in Northern Uganda.
Conscious Theatre Performances
We hosted a Theatre Show Fundraising event where we flew in the lead ballet performer of Uganda National Contemporary Ballet to London to perform a piece entitled Cry For Women’s Dignity.
This performance helped us raise awareness of the plight of female child soldiers/victims of war and the brutality they endured during the conflict in Gulu, Northern Uganda, most especially the sexual violence during conflict.
All proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to our charity to further our work in Northern Uganda.
London Colour Run
IamSCS trustees and supporters took part in the London Colour Run where we had runners sponsored to run on behalf of the charity to raise funds towards our work in Gulu, Northern Uganda and also raise awareness in the UK of the plight of former child soldiers and victims of war.
